The Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light Department (WMGLD) plans to install approximately 3,560 LF of 8 PE by direct buried method on the Low Pressure System. The replacement will take place at Prospect Street, starting at Cedar St. and will include Morningside Rd., Overlake Rd., Nichols St., Shumway Circle and Morrison Rd. in Wakefield, MA. All work and procedures shall be in full accordance with this IFB and WMGLDs Standard Terms and Conditions attached. All work is to be performed in a workmanlike manner in accordance with standard utility practice and in conformance with all applicable rules, standards, and laws including Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 70E), federal, state and local regulations, and company safety practices and policies The work to be performed will be installation of polyethylene (PE plastic) natural gas main. The work includes removal of existing pavement, concrete, unsuitable soil, the specified installations, and backfilling of the trenches with gravel. Billings for such operations will consist of time and material charges.
