Project number- A1102-017 Adams WWTF Improvements - Replacement and upgrade of aged mechanical process equipment including aerators, upgrade to chemical systems, structural repairs and improvements, and various electrical and HVAC improvements. The Work includes, but not limited to, the following major items:
a. Replacement of grit collection system equipment
b. Replacement of one grit pump
c. Replacement of three mechanical aerators in North Aeration Basin
d. Replacement of clarifier mechanism in South Secondary Clarifier
e. Replacement of one waste activated sludge pump
f. Waste and return sludge piping/valve modifications
g. Replacement of plant water pumping system and strainer
h. Replacement of sodium hypochlorite system
i. Replacement of sodium bisulfite system
j. Electrical upgrades at Domestic / Industrial Pump Stations
k. Replacement of motor control centers
l. Electrical and control works to support mechanical upgrades
m. HVAC work
n. Structural repairs
o. Painting work The work consists of various improvements to the Wastewater Treatment Facility, including grit
system upgrades, replacement mechanical aerators in the North Aeration Basin, replacement
secondary clarifier mechanism, new waste sludge pump, return sludge pump piping improvements,
replacement grit pump, new plant water pumping system, replacement sodium hypochlorite and
sodium bisulfite systems, various concrete repairs, new aluminum guardrail and toe plates, HVAC
improvements, electrical improvements at the WWTF, and electrical improvements at the Domestic
/ Industrial pump stations. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, with additive alternate
bid items as indicated in the Bid Form. The time frame to project completion shall be as required in
Section 00520. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goals are applicable to the total dollars paid to the
construction contract. The goals for this project are a minimum of 4.20 percent D/MBE
participation and 4.50 percent D/WBE participation by certified DBEs
