Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in San Antonio, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; residential development; and residential development.
The Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction (FP&C) on behalf of the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System (Owner) and Texas A&M University-San Antonio are soliciting statements of qualifications for selection of a Design-Build (DB) firm for the 25-3309 TAMU-San Antonio Housing Phase II (Project), in accordance with the terms, conditions, and requirements set forth in this Request for Qualifications. Texas A&M University-San Antonio intends to construct a second phase of student housing which will add 383 beds to the campus. The project will be constructed adjacent to the first phase (Esperanza Hall). The design of this project will, as closely as possible, duplicate the design of Esperanza Hall. The program of requirements illustrates the spatial requirements of the new residence hall and any exterior or supporting needs that will be included in the budget. The proposed building will be four stories and a total of 105,000 gross square feet. The Planning Amount for this project is $32,500,000. The Planning Amount includes an Amount Available for Construction Contract (AACC) of $24,000,000. Fees, furnishings, other work, miscellaneous expenses, and contingencies make up the balance of the Planning Amount. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is the first step of a two-step selection process for selecting a Design-Build firm. The RFQ provides the information necessary to prepare and submit Qualifications for consideration by the Owner. The Owner may select up to five (5) of the top ranked Qualifications respondents to response to a Request for Proposals.
