It could cost as much as $10 billion to overhaul the 72-year-old Port Authority Bus Terminal, with plans for a new terminal on the site of the existing one. The design calls for an adjacent staging and storage area for buses when they aren't in use, and for this staging area to be used to continue transit operations while the old terminal is demolished in stages. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey ("Authority") is seeking Proposals in response to the subject Request for Proposals (RFP) for the performance of expert professional architectural services for the Port Authority Bus Terminal Replacement Project on an "as-needed" basis during 2022 through 2027. The Authority reserves the right to extend this agreement for an additional 3 (three) additional 3 (three)-year periods ("Option Periods") (a total of 9 (nine) option years). Services to be performed by the selected Consultant may be funded in whole or in part by a federal agency under the U.S. Department of Transportation. The successful proposer shall be required to comply with all applicable federal requirements as required.
