Demolition and site work for a municipal facility in Springfield, Ohio. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
This specification is for services required for the demolition of residential, commercial and accessory structures as required by the City of Springfield. Bid Bond-A Bid Bond in the amount of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) applies to this bid. A certified check or a cashiers check drawn upon a solvent bank and made payable to the Treasurer of the City of Springfield for like amount, may be used in lieu of a Bid Bond. Performance and Payment Bond-A performance bond in the amount of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) applies to this bid. The Contractor shall completely remove and lawfully dispose of all structures, all rubble, and demolition debris of every description from the premises thereto. All above-grade utility connections, steps, walks, on-grade slabs, driveways, retaining walls and other masonry material and fencing shall be removed and cisterns filled unless otherwise directed by the Community Development Department. Demolition work required by the contract, which may have been omitted on Purchase Orders or on Notices to Proceed, such as steps, walks, slabs, driveways, retaining walls and all other such masonry material and fencing shall be removed and cisterns shall be filled when so directed by the field inspector. A change order shall be requested if such omissions occur. Pursuant to Springfield Codified Ordinance 1311 Permits, three (3) Demolition Permit inspections are required of the Contractor and will be performed by the Code Enforcement Division: A. Backfill-to verify that foundation walls, piers, columns, etc. have been removed to at least 24 inches below grade; basement floors have been broken or removed; wood, metals and other organic materials have been removed prior to backfill. B. Sewer Cap - to witness that all sewer lines are properly capped with a mechanical cap. C. Final Grade - to accept final grade and topsoil prior to applying seed and straw. The bids can only be submitted through Bid Express. Free registration with Bid Express will allow a bidder to review and print all City of Springfield projects. A digital ID will be required for the bidder to submit an electronic bids. The digital ID can be set up through Bid Express.
