The State College Area School District plans to replace existing domestic hot water heating and softening at Mount Nittany Middle School. The following is a brief outline of the scope of work: o Demolish existing hot water storage tank and related tube bundle heat exchanger, existing domestic hot water circulator pump, domestic water softener and domestic hot water mixing valve. o Selective demolition of heating water supply/return piping (boiler to remain). o Selective demolition of domestic cold water and hot water piping. o Provide two new high efficiency condensing gas water heaters and connect to existing domestic cold and hot water systems with new hot water circulating pumps and mixing valve. o Provide new packaged domestic water softener package and connect to existing system. A Bid Guaranty in the form of a Certified Check or a Surety Company's Bid Bond shall be submitted with the Proposal in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total Bid amount. In the event that any Bidders shall, upon the award of a contract, fail to comply with the terms of the proposal and/or Contract Documents, the amount of the Bid Guaranty shall be forfeited to the Owner For any contract exceeding $5,000.00, wording about this requirement must be provided: The contractor shall provide a performance bond and a labor and material payment bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract price, before the award of the contract.
