Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Lafayette, Tennessee. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; transportation facility; for outdoor lighting for a transportation facility; and transportation facility.
The work generally consists of the rehabilitation of the runway (2-inch mill and overlay, crack sealing, seal coat, pavement markings), the installation of new LED runway edge and threshold lights, new LED REILs, and a new stand-alone precast electrical vault. Also included is the reconstruction of the entrance road via full depth reclamation (FDR), and associated work. The City of Lafayette, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000D to 2000D-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Non-Discrimination in FederallyAssisted Programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all Bidders that each Bidder must affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, creed, sex, handicap, or national origin in consideration of an award. Each proposal must be accompanied by a Bidder's Bond on the form contained in the Proposal Book from a surety company acceptable to the City of Lafayette or a cashier's check or certified check made payable to the City of Lafayette for not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. A 100% Contract Bond will be required of the successful Contractor. Liquidated damages for delay in contract completion shall be as stated in the Proposal. All Bidders shall be licensed Contractors as required by the Contractors Licensing Act of 1976 of the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee, and all amendments thereto in effect on the date of receipt of bids. The proposal, which shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope shall be clearly labeled on the outside of the envelope with the name of the project, contractor's name and address and license number, classification, expiration date, and the date and time of the Bid Opening (so as to guard against premature opening of any bid). Failure to show these items on the outside of the envelope will result in the bid being returned to the Bidder unopened. All Bidders shall complete and certify the enclosed Drug Free Workplace Affidavit. Withdrawal of Bid: Any Bidder, upon his and his authorized representative's written request, will be given permission to withdraw his proposal not later than the time set for opening thereto. At the time of opening of proposals, provided written request has been submitted prior to the time of the opening, when such proposal is reached it will be returned to the Bidder unopened. Unless contrary to the statues of the State of Tennessee, including local charter provisions, no Bidder may withdraw a bid submitted for a period of sixty (60) days after actual bid opening without Owner's consent. Award will be made to the lowest responsible qualified Bidder in accordance with Contract documents, if awarded. The right to reject any or all bids and to wave technicalities is reserved.
