This contract includes but is not limited to: All work as shown on the drawings and described in the specifications for the installation of new water services, and associated work. The contractor is requested to provide costs for the pay items listed for each municipal location they intend to bid. Contractors may choose to bid on one or more of the municipal locations. The City of Kalamazoo shall award the contract(s) to one or more Contractors, depending on the pricing received from low responsive bidder(s) for the municipal total cost or the overall total cost. All contracted work shall be completed in accordance with the City of Kalamazoo Standard Specifications for Water Main and Service Construction, as well as the 2012 edition of the MDOT Standard Specifications for Construction. A performance bond shall be furnished in the full amount of the contract ensuring the City of faithful performance of all the provisions of the contract, and the satisfactory performance of any equipment required hereunder. The bond shall also ensure the City against defective workmanship and/or materials. A labor and material (payment) bond shall be furnished for the period covered by the contract, in the full amount of the contract for the protection of labor and material suppliers and sub-contractors. The City reserves the right to postpone the bid opening for its own convenience.
