The purpose of this project is to maintain the integrity and improve reliability of the RAS pumping system. Pumps 1,4,5,6 & 8 are reaching the end of their useful lives and do not operate as efficiently as originally designed. Failure of one or more RAS pumps may impact effluent quality and the ability to meet the District's WPDES effluent permit limits. The project scope includes preliminary engineering hydraulic analysis, design, and construction to replace the RAS pumps. The RAS system will be hydraulically modeled to determine the replacement pump size to operate efficiently and reliably within the system. This project was previously funded as part of S06038, Capital Equipment Rehabilitation/Replacement. The increase in total project cost is due to the addition of construction costs. No significant operating budget impact is anticipated. As of May 21, 2024, this project is included in the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District's FY 2024 Capital Budget. It is still in the conceptual stage. Construction is anticipated to begin in August 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
