Saving Project...

Renovation of a medical facility in San Francisco, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.

As of September 15th, 2022, project was awarded to TCB Builders, Inc., however awarded amount was not disclosed. The University of California, San Francisco has completed the prequalification for the Project. This Announcement to Prequalified Bidders establishes the requirements for sealed bids, which will only be accepted from the Prequalified Bidder. This scope project is to replace surgical lights in 23 operating rooms in Moffitt and Long hospitals. Replacement of the lights largely entails replacement of entire booms and accessories attached to the lights. The structural attachment of the replacement OR lights will be to the existing overhead structural support system. Some rooms require replacement of additional components or booms to maintain parity with the current room configuration. A new overhead system is to be installed in OR 8 for a new boom. Electrical work will be required in support of the boom replacement. Some rooms will require lowering or relocation of lighting controls to meet ADA standards. Plumbing scope primarily consists of attaching medical gas and vacuum systems to boom systems replaced with the new surgical lights. In scheduling the work, the University intends to shut down no more than one OR at a time during normal operating hours and sequentially prioritize installation of each OR as required. The University will utilize Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery method for this project. Prior to mobilization for construction, the CMAR may assist, at a minimum, in activities such as constructability evaluation, bid package development, trade buyouts, sequencing, planning, and scheduling. Construction phase activities may include coordination and trade management in the execution of the work to perform the project scope. The estimated construction cost for the project is $1,500,000. Level 2 interviews may be conducted after review of the Level 1 Prequalification Documents for those prospective bidders that pass Level 1. For any questions regarding this project or your submission, please e-mail Alison Kang at alison.kang@ucsf.edu or contact her at (415) 215-8087. Please do not contact anyone else at the University in connection with this Prequalification. Deadline for inquiries and questions is Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 5:00 PM. The University reserves the right to reject any or all responses to Prequalification Questionnaires and to waive non-material irregularities in any response received.
