invites bids for furnishing and placing surface mix for four (4) projects in the Township as they become ready for overlay in 2022. The unit price will be per ton and is based on 6027 ton. The unit price is to include cleaning, patching, butt joints, priming, and 2" roto-milling of 2417 feet at 13 foot wide of road surface and 3675 feet at 24 foot wide of road surface. The prime used is to be SS1H or approved equal. One of the proposed projects, Coventry Hills East, has 18 sanitary district manhole covers that will need to be adjusted to accommodate a 2" overlay. Adjusting covers will be done within the Four Rivers Sanitation Authority standard specifications. The cost of adjusting sanitary district covers needs to be separate line item from hot mat. All bidders shall include in their bid proposals a copy of the Illinois Department of Transportation pre-qualification form. Bids not having this attached shall not be considered. This contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed as approved by the Cherry Valley Township Board. Projects are to be completed by September 15, 2022. The Highway Commissioner reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, to waive any technicalities or to accept any item or any proposal.
