Renovation of a municipal facility in Santa Barbara, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Project consists of re-roofing the entire Engineering Building including, but not limited to, all removal of the existing roof systems necessary for built-up roof restoration (Upper Roof), built-up roof replacement (Lower Roof), and tile roof removal, replacement of underlayment, and re-installation of existing clay tile. Includes all HazMat remediation as identified in the attached Lead and Asbestos report. The project includes the full scope of work necessary to create a weathertight roofing system at the Engineering Building. The subject site consists of two primary buildings with separate roofing systems. The front building is a 2-story structure with a pitched roof covered by clay tiles. The rear building is a 3-story building with a flat, built-up roof covered by hot-mop aggregate (stones) roofing. The two buildings are joined by a 2-story connector building which is also covered by hot-mop aggregate roofing. FCG was retained to conduct a survey of suspect asbestos and lead-based roofing materials that might be disturbed as part of roofing replacement activities. The survey was conducted in order to identify hazardous materials issues in accordance with federal, state and local regulations
