Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a 33,500-square-foot pre-engineered storage facility; for site work for a pre-engineered storage facility; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
his project includes 9 acres of site development with modification to existing drainage ditches to prepare the site for a soccer field, future tennis courts, sidewalks, and parking supporting the new shop facility. A storm water retention pond is anticipated. The two new buildings include a 12,000 SF Shop Facility and 21,500 SF Gymnasium. The shop facility is to be a pre-manufactured metal building and includes an entry canopy and vestibule with interior access to restrooms and 3 large shop classrooms with overhead doors and supporting offices. The gymnasium facility is also designed to be a metal building. The selected CM will be engaged to provide guidance on the most appropriate construction type given current market conditions and the requirements of the school. The building space program includes a covered entry and vestibule adjacent to the large lobby with support spaces including restrooms, tickets, and concessions. The gymnasium will house a competition gym with 500-1,000 movable bleachers. Back of house spaces include locker rooms, ref lockers, storage, and coaches' office. Future development includes a covered walkway to connect the gymnasium building to the shop facility and a covered walkway to connect back to the existing school. Additionally, the existing school will undergo an exterior update to provide a new feature canopy and solar panel system at the main entry. The CM will need to provide guidance on cost of these items to determine their feasibility within the project scope. Estimated construction budget is ($9,000.000).
