Remodeling of a municipal facility in Colonial Beach, Virginia. Design plans call for the remodel of a municipal facility.

As of December 14, 2023, a design team has been selected. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Town of Colonial Beach is seeking professional consultant and Architectural/ Engineering services related to the remodeling or replacement of Town Hall. The current Town Hall is located at 315 Douglas Ave, Colonial Beach, VA 22443, and the Police Department is located at 416 Colonial Ave Colonial Ave, Colonial Beach, VA 22443. The present Town Hall consists of one building of approximately 6,700 square feet, one conference room, offices for staff including Town Manager, Clerk/Town Council, Parks & Recreation, Human Resources, Finance and Planning & Zoning. Currently, 15 fulltime employees work in the building. The Police Department consists of one building of approximately 6,800 square feet across two floors, including one conference room, two individual offices, one large open office, storage rooms, leased from another entity. Currently 15 full-time employees work in the building. The Town of Colonial Beach anticipates the need for major renovations to the interior and exterior of the current Town Hall building or replacement of the facility at its current location or a location to be determined. The Public Works Administration building is located at 2301 McKinney Blvd, Colonial Beach, VA 22443. The space is approximately 15,000 square feet and comprises of four large, shared offices and three equipment bays. Currently 6 full-time staff work in the building with approximately 20 staff utilizing the space throughout the day. Upon completion of the renovations or replacement of the current Town Hall, the Town of Colonial Beach expects the facility to support the growth of the Town for the next fifty years. This shall include: a future staff of approximately 80 full and part-time employees; offices to support elected officials, other support and advisory personnel, break room and employee amenities; flexible meeting space, secure fireproof storage space, customer service focused layout, flex office space, and other necessary and related improvements. The priorities for the finished product are to retain or replicate the current facade, consolidate as many Town functions as economically beneficial, provide citizens, businesses and visitors with a single entry and service area, the capability for future facility expansion, and provide flexible meeting spacefor Council, staff, and the community.
