Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Courtenay, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 105,000-square-foot, four-story above grade educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
NIC new student housing will become part of the heart of campus and will provide a sense of home away from home to its residents and a gathering place for activities for all its students. NIC plans to deliver a full housing life and education program for students living in the complex. As well, it is intended to welcome non-resident (commuter) students in shared amenity spaces. The project, comprised of two four story buildings, brings 217 beds and a host of community centric amenity spaces to campus. A range of living accommodations studio, quad, two-bedroom family, and accessible apartments; supports the College diverse student population. Amenities, including an outdoor kitchen, playground, amphitheater, community and learning gardens, lounges, an interfaith room, wellness center and Indigenous gathering place; make on campus living ideal for students from all walks of life. TIMELINE: Construction was complete in September of 2025.
