The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to solicit bidders to provide the California Department of Technology - Office of Broadband and Digital Literacy (hereinafter referred to as Department of Technology or "State") with Optical Fiber and Components for the Middle Mile Broadband Initiative (MMBI) described herein. This competitive solicitation will result in a "Just-In-Time (JIT)" Optical Fiber and Components Contract. The JIT Contract, as referenced in this document, is a contract which will be competitively bid and will allow CDT to order "Optical Fiber and Components" on an as-needed basis through the duration of the contract. This section contains the detailed procedural requirements pertaining to the deliverables as described in the following sections of this IFB. The State has defined five (5) categories for the Middle Mile Broadband Initiative IFB: Category 1: Conduit Category 2: Vaults Category 3: Optical Fiber Category 4: Construction Hardware Category 5: Network Hub Shelter
