Owensboro Municipal Utilities, a municipal power distributor, is requesting bids for a labor and equipment only contract incorporating unit pricing for installation of conduits of various sizes either by boring or trenching over a three-year period. The placement of conduit, transformer pads, small junction boxes, below ground splice boxes, secondary pedestals, and other related duties detailed within these specifications shall be the responsibility of the contractor as well. Scope includes any boring/trenching needs that arise within the timeframe proposed for this contract. While no specified scope of definite footages or installation projects will be provided herein, previous contracts have regularly met or exceeded the monetary limit due to consistent workload demands. Contract is subject to a one year probation period beginning June 1, 2022 and ending May 31, 2023. If the Contractor's performance is found to be satisfactory to OMU, the contract will automatically be extended annually to terminate on May 31, 2025, subject to budget approvals by the Utility Commission annually. Should the Contractor's performance be found inadequate; OMU shall notify Contractor in writing within 30 days of May 31, 2023 that the contract will not be extended. Contract is limited to $800,000 over the 3 year period. OMU reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities.
