Renovation of an educational facility in San Bernardino, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

For furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and transportation for the University Village HVAC Systems Replacement Project, Project Number SBCMP0000059559, for the California State University, San Bernardino, campus. In general, the scope of work includes providing all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and transportation for the University Village HVAC Systems Replacement project, on the campus of California State University, San Bernardino. Work consists of removing and replacing one hundred ten (110) R-22 Condensing Units (*owner supplied) and one hundred ten (110) Air Handler Units (*owner supplied) serving University Village residence buildings. Work shall be completed in a timely and safe environment in accordance with the detailed specifications and special conditions. Construction period shall be fifty-nine (59) calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed with a proposed work schedule of May 23, 2022 - July 20, 2022. The estimated budget for this project is limited to $550,000.00. This project is a public works project and is subject to prevailing wage rate laws (see Contract General Conditions, Article 4.02-a). The Trustees require the successful proposer to achieve three percent (3%) DVBE participation in contracting construction projects as established in the Request for Proposals. Proposers shall contact the Trustees' DVBE Advocate at (909) 537-5145. It will be the responsibility of each proposer to obtain a proposal package in sufficient time to fulfill requirements therein. Proposal packages are obtainable only by prequalified contractors, licensed in the State of California with a C-20, or C-61/D-53 license, and registered with the DIR to bid public works projects The scope of work includes replacement of existing R-22 split unit HVAC systems in University Village as well as associated equipment, plenum, and other ductwork as necessary to complete the replacement. - Perform work per Industry and Union Standards and Practices. - Contractor to communicate any non-routine issues to Project Manager. - Contractor to replace 110 indoor fan coil units and 110 condensing units within individual dwelling units; fan coil and condensing units to be provided by owner. -This project will include electrical and mechanical work. - Phase 1 equipment is anticipated to arrive prior to May 23, 2022. - Contractor will be responsible for receiving, offloading, and securing equipment for Phases 2 & 3. - All lines must be properly flushed and tested prior to charging per state regulations. - All existing equipment must be disposed of per state regulations. - All existing R-22 must be properly reclaimed for recycling or destruction. - Return should be properly insulated to prevent inflow from the mechanical chase. - Contractor to provide all other parts, materials, or supplies needed to complete the installation according to state regulations. - Contractor will be responsible for relocating all furniture, furnishings, and equipment away from the walls as necessary to allow for installation. - Proper protection including drop cloths, temporary floor protectant and/or sheet plastic must be used to protect flooring, furniture, counter tops, etc. Contractor will be responsible for any damage that is not reported prior to commencing work. - All frequently used walkways, elevators, and staging areas must be protected with properly adhered temporary flooring protection (ie Ram Board) throughout the duration of the project. Work area should be free of drywall particles, wood chips, insulation, or other debris upon project completion. - Contractor to remove and properly dispose of all coverings, temporary signage, and related material upon project completion. - Contractor and all affiliated staff and/or vendors must adhere to Campus policies regarding COVID-19, resident privacy, and minor protection while on campus. Any staff, vendors, or other personnel in violation of campus policies will be removed from campus immediately. - Moderate noise levels must be observed when residents occupy the building. DHRE to notify contractor when the building is clear of residents.
