The widening of Runway 17-35 as well as the reconstruction of Taxiway Bravo and Apron I. RDRA is about to embark on an exciting new phase of airport development which will include the widening of Runway 17-35 as well as the reconstruction of Taxiway Bravo and Apron I. The proposed improvements are being carried out in order to support heavier aircraft at the airport which requires the 30 m wide runway to be widened to 45 m in width. The proposed works will involve the following key activities and approximate quantities: Topsoil stripping: 24,000 m3 Earth excavation: 55,000 m3 Subdrains: 5,500 m Airside Manholes: 45 Granular Sub-base: 100,000 tonnes Granular base: 40,000 tonnes HMAC base: 12,000 tonnes HMAC surface: 9,000 tonnes Airfield Electrical including: Trenching 2800 m HI LED Edge Lights 90 MI LED Twy Lights 33 Associated cabling and pullpits Relocate Signs 10 New guidance signs 2 Please email operations@rdcounty.ca for a copy of the Tender documents
