The Work under this item includes, without limitation, full depth cold milling of the existing asphalt including cleaning, loading, hauling and spreading on the new Airport Perimeter Road currently under construction on airport property as directed by the Engineer. 2. The following scope of work will be considered paid work under this item: Apron II Taxilane (NE Portion of Work Area 2) Apron II (East Corner of Work Area 1) 3. Undertake the works in accordance to Section 02 41 13.14-Asphalt Paving Removal. 4. Provide for suppression of dust generated by removal process. 5. Protect existing pavement not designated for removal, light units, and structures from damage. In event of damage, immediately replace or make repairs to approval of Engineer at no additional cost. 6. Measurement for payment shall be per square meter of asphalt removed and placed on the new Airport Perimeter Road based on field measurement. Payment at the unit price bid shall be compensation in full for all related Works. ITEM A.2.2a/A.2.2b/B.2.2 PARTIAL ASPHALT MILLING to GRADE (APPROX. 50-100mm) 1. The Work under this item includes, without limitation, partial depth cold milling of the existing asphalt including cleaning, loading, hauling and spreading on Airport Perimeter Road as directed by the Engineer. Milling depth will be approximately 50mm-100 mm. 2. The following scope of work will be considered paid work under this item: Apron II (Work Area 1) Runway 17-35 Patch (Work Area 4) Apron II Taxilane (Work Area 2) 3. Undertake the works in accordance to Section 02 41 13.14-Asphalt Paving Removal. 4. Provide for suppression of dust generated by removal process. 5. Protect existing pavement not designated for removal, light units, and structures from damage. In event of damage, immediately replace or make repairs to approval of Engineer at no additional cost. 7. Payment at the unit price bid shall be compensation in full for all related Works. ITEM A.2.3/B2.3 EXISTING CRACK REPAIR 1. Work under this item includes all work required to repair existing cracks as indicated on the Contract Drawings or the Engineer. 2. Undertake the works in accordance with sections: Asphalt milling to Section 02 41 13.14-Asphalt Paving Removal Re-grade and compact existing granular material - Section 32 11 23-Granular Base Course Pave new asphalt - Section 32 12 16-Asphalt Paving 3. Prior to making the repairs the Engineer will review the existing cracks with the Contractor and mark the ones for repair. 4. Measurement for payment shall be made per linear meter of repaired cracks as approved by the Engineer. Payment at the tendered unit price shall be compensation in full for all related works. ITEMS A.2.4/C.2.1 COMMON EXCAVATION 1. The work under this item includes, without limitation, common excavation including disposal on site as directed by the engineer and as necessary to meet cut requirements for Work Areas 1 and 3. 2. Common excavation in excess of fill requirements shall be stockpiled in designated stockpile locations as directed by the engineer. 3. Undertake the works in accordance with Section 31 22 14-Airfield Grading. 4. Measurement for payment shall be in accordance with Section 31 22 14-Airfield Grading -Part 5 Measurement and Payment.. The tender shall be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the tender price and a Consent of Surety for the performance bond and labour and materials payment bond, in the amounts specified in the tender invitation. The bid bond and consent of surety shall be provided in an acceptable form by an agency that is acceptable to the owner, and licensed in the jurisdiction of the project. An Agreement to Bond, executed under its corporate seal, by the surety company from which the Tenderer proposes to obtain the required bond for 50% Performance and the bond for 50% Labour and Material Payment. The bonds shall be issued by a company whose guarantee bonds are acceptable to the Government of Canada.
