Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in Redwood City, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The work consists generally of supplying and installing structural support inside the ceiling structure at two locations in the facility as outlined in Project Drawings. Bidders shall be responsible for exposing existing ceiling support prior to installing additional support as outlined in Project Drawings. Work shall be completed within [21] Days from the date when Contract Time commences to run. INSTRUCTIONS: Bidders shall refer to Document 00 2113 (Instructions to Bidders) for required documents and items to be submitted as set forth in Paragraph 1.01 above BID PREPARATION COST: Bidders are solely responsible for the cost of preparing their Bids. RESERVATION OF RIGHTS: City specifically reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all Bids, to re-bid, or to waive inconsequential defects in bidding not involving time, price or quality of the work. City may reject any and all Bids and waive any minor irregularities in the Bids REQUIRED CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE(S): A California Contractors State License Board Class A or B contractor's license is required to bid this contract. Joint ventures must secure a joint venture license prior to award of this Contract. REQUIRED CONTRACTOR AND SUBCONTRACTOR REGISTRATION: A. City shall accept Bids only from Bidders that (along with all Subcontractors listed in Document 00 4314, Subcontractor List) are currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code Sections 1771.1(a) and 1725.5. B. Subject to Labor Code Sections 1771.1(c) and (d), any Bid not complying with paragraph 2.02A above shall be returned and not considered; provided that if Bidder is a joint venture (Business & Professions Code Section 7029.1) or if federal funds are involved in the Contract (Labor Code Section 1771.1(a)), City may accept a non-complying Bid provided that Bidder and all listed Subcontractors are registered at the time of Contract award. The determination of lowest bid shall be based upon: 1. Base contract bid only SUBSTITUTION OF SECURITIES: City will permit the successful bidder to substitute securities for any retention monies withheld to ensure performance of the contract, as set forth in Document 00 6290 Escrow Agreement For Security Deposits In Lieu Of Retention and incorporated herein in full by this reference, in accordance with Public Contract Code Section 22300. PREVAILING WAGE LAWS: The successful Bidder must comply with all prevailing wage laws applicable to the Project, and related requirements contained in the Contract Documents. Copies of the general prevailing rates of per diem wages for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute the Contract, as determined by Director of the State of California Department of Industrial Relations may be obtained from the California Department of Industrial Relations website Upon request, City will make available copies to any interested party. Also, the successful Bidder shall post the applicable prevailing wage rates at the Site. PREVAILING WAGE MONITORING: This Project is subject to prevailing wage compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations.
