Renovation of an educational facility in West Branch, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 5,400-square-foot educational facility.

The bids are for a single Prime Contract (General, Mechanical, and Electrical combined) for renovations within the Career Tech Education (CTE) area at West Branch High School. A 5,400sf renovation within the existing school includes, but is not limited to, classroom reconfiguration, a new mezzanine, new structural CMU walls, a new dust collection system, and new finishes, among other related work. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis; segregated sub-bids will not be accepted. Work is anticipated to commence upon award of contract, with on-site work commencing May 1, 2023, and be completed by August 18, 2023. Bidders and sub-bidders requiring interpretation of the bidding documents or substitution requests are required to make a written request to the Architect by 5:00 p.m. local time, seven calendar days prior to the date for receipt of Bids. Clarifications or modifications of the Bid Documents will be addressed via Addendum no later than four calendar days prior to the date for receipt of Bids. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid in the form of certified check, credit union share draft, or surety bond written on an original AIA Document A310, Bid Bond is required for this project. The successful bidder will be required to provide surety Performance and Payment Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum The award of the contract may be made by the West Branch Community School District to any responsible bidder or bidders offering suitable supplies, equipment and/or service at the lowest price taking into consideration the quality of materials or service in the best interest of the Owner. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interest of the Owner. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa.
