The submitted bids will be opened at City Hall immediately after the published deadline for acceptance of said bids, with City staff and at least one member of the City Council present. All interested parties are invited to be in attendance at the bid opening. The City Council will formally award the bid at their regular meeting at 5:00 P.M., P.D.S.T., on Thursday, April 14, 2022, or soon thereafter. Bids must be on the proposal form provided by the Engineering Department and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a certified check, a cashiers check or cash in the amount equal to at least FIVE PERCENT (5%) of total bid. All bonds including bid bonds shall be executed by a corporate surety company authorized to do business in the State of Nevada. The attention of the bidders is directed to the State Contractors License law that a contractor hold a valid license, at the time of bidding, of a class corresponding to the work to be done. Bidder shall also hold a valid City Business License before commencing construction Minimum wage rates have been determined by the Labor Commissioner of the State of Nevada and are set forth in the Contract Documents. In no case shall the wage rates be less than prescribed therein. The City of Ely reserves the right to accept or reject any or all items specified in the bid request, as is deemed in the best interest of the City of Ely. The City of Ely reserves the right to waive any minor technicalities in the preparation of these bidding documents or specifications. The award may be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The lowest responsible and responsive bidder will be judged on the basis of price, performance to specifications, bidder's qualifications, quality and utility of services, supplies, materials or equipment offered and their adaptability to the required purposes and the best interest of the public, each of such factors being considered.
