Project Description: McNears Beach Slope Repair project occurs at the McNears Beach Park at 201 Cantera Way, San Rafael, CA. The project will stabilize earth movement which occurred in February of 2017. The project includes installation of a soldier pile wall comprised of 13 steel I-beams, wood lagging and subdrain system. The project will also include site grading including contouring of fill and finish slope upslope of soldier pile wall. COVID-19: Contractor must adhere to all work, health and safety requirements as directed by the most current State and local Marin County Health Order(s) Electronic bid documents shall only be transferred to bidder once a release form is signed and returned to the Parks Department. MCNEARS BEACH SLOPE REPAIR The Engineers Estimate for the base bid for this project is $316,650. A contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirements of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, as defined in this chapter, unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Labor Code. It is not a violation of this section for an unregistered contractor to submit a bid that is authorized by Section 7029.1 of the Business and Professions Code or by Section 10164 or 20103.5 of the Public Contract Code, provided the contractor is registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Labor Code at the time the contract is awarded. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. A Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount payable to the County of Marin shall accompany the Proposal. (Bidders security can be in the form of cash, a cashiers check, a certified check or a bidders bond from Contractors Surety Company.) Award of contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal complies with prescribed requirements, and will be within sixty (60) days after receipt of proposals. The County of Marin reserves the right to reject any or all bids and the right to waive any irregularities. The provisions of Public Contract Code 22300, regarding substitution of securities for monies withheld to ensure performance shall apply to this contract. Deadline to submit questions regarding plans and specs: 5:00 PM, Tuesday, April 12, 2022. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A License at the time contract is awarded. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990. The County of Marin hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business and woman owned business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or national origin in consideration for an award. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates for Marin County where the work is to be done have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available at the Department of Public Works. Prevailing Wage Rates are also available at the State of California Division of Labor Statistics and Research website
