As of October 22, 2024, a general contractor was awarded. Construction began in summer 2024 and is estimated to be completed in spring 2025. 439124-1 SR A1A from Osprey Drive to north of Mariners Drive The purpose of the project is to resurface State Road (S.R.) A1A from Osprey Drive to north of Mariners Drive to extend the service life of the existing roadway. The project will also add two new midblock crossings equipped with pedestrian activated signals known as Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) to alert drivers that a pedestrian is ready to cross. The crossings are planned at Varn Park and south of Westmayer Place. Improved crossings are also planned north of Painters Walk, north of Driftway Terrace, and south of Mariners Drive.
