The City is accepting sealed Bids to hire a qualified contractor for removal and replacement of existing asphalt and EPDM roof and all skylights at the Gaithersburg Police Station located at 14 Fulks Corner Avenue, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877. All Bids must be a fixed price and include all labor, materials, tools, equipment and services required for and incidental to the repairs and replacements indicated. All questions regarding this solicitation shall be submitted by email to Procurement at procurement@gaithersburgmd.gov. i. Removal and replacement of all damaged, failing, and/or aging external thermal and moisture protection systems to include ice and water shield. Removal of all asphalt shingles and replace with new. Removal of all EPDM/synthetic roof membrane and replace with new. Removal and replacement of all roof flashings/boots, vents, snow and ice guards. Cleaning of all debris and litter from existing roof, gutters and downspouts. ii. Repair or replace damaged sheathing as required (up to 10% slope roof area). iii. Removal and replacement of all skylights. iv. Installation of Fall Protection Ridge Anchors. B. Materials i. Shingles: CertainTeed Landmark architectural asphalt shingles (or approved equal) ii. Synthetic Underlayment: Per shingle manufacturer's recommendations iii. Ice & Water Shield: CertainTeed WinterGuard (or approved equal) iv. Starter Shingles: CertainTeed SwiftStart (or approved equal) starter shingles v. Hip and Ridge Caps: CertainTeed ShadowRidge (or approved equal) hip and ridge caps vi. Drip Edge: On all eaves and rakes vii. Synthetic Roof Membrane for Low Slope Valleys: CertainTeed Flintlastic SA low roof membrane (or approved equal) viii. Skylights: Velux Fixed Deck Mount Skylights - FS-C06 (or approved equal) ix. Fall Protection Ridge Anchor: Basis of design is "Ridge-It Anchor", model #00510, by Guardian Fall Protection, (or approved equal). Install per manufacturer's instructions.
