**As of May 24, 2022, project has been awarded to Clippers Lawn and Landscaping Inc., in the amount of $267,168.50. The proposed improvement consists of removing approximately 660 feet of existing timber retaining wall of various heights and removing timber stairs, installing approximately 2500 square feet of segmental block retaining wall, including all required excavation, fills, and soil reinforcement. The contractor is required to have a geotechnical investigation with soil borings performed for design of the segmental block retaining wall. Install approximately 360 feet of chain-link fence. Work includes erosion control, traffic control, final grading and seeding, site restoration, filter fabric, river rock, pipe underdrain, and all applicable work. There is an alternate bid item for a segmental block retaining wall that matches the block style, setback, shape and color of the existing retaining wall adjacent to the project. All Proposals Must Be Accompanied by a Bank Draft, Cashier's Check, or Certified Check Made Payable to Treasurer, Decatur, Illinois, in the Amount of Ten Percent (10%) of the Bid or Bid Bond in the Same Amount. The Contractor and all subcontractors shall at all times during the term of this Contract pay the applicable prevailing wage for Macon County for the period during which the work is performed, as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor. The following Minority Participation Goals for Public Works Contracts are in effect for this contract.
Ten percent (10%) of the total dollar amount of the contract should be performed by minority business enterprises if subcontracting opportunities are available and/or 10% of the total dollar amount of the contract should be for the purchase of goods, material and equipment to Minority Business Enterprises.
Eighteen percent (18%) of the total hours worked should be performed by minority workers. All Contractors shall provide evidence of meeting the City's minority participation goals prior to the award of this project and prior to all payments made for work completed or provide the City of Decatur documentation on their good faith efforts to comply with the participation goals. Required information and documentation forms are included in the Project Manual and should be submitted with the bid proposal. The Council of the City of Decatur, Illinois, reserves the right to accept, renegotiate or reject any or all proposals and to waive any variance from the requirements of the instructions for bidders. At the discretion of the Council, required items may be submitted after the bid opening if there is sufficient compliance with instructions at the time of the bid opening to permit the City to determine the price bid.
