Site work for a mixed-use development in Lethbridge, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
The City of Lethbridge owns and maintains approximately 9 kilometres of railway track which is regulated by Alberta Transportation. Canadian Pacific operates on this system which services 15 industrial businesses in the north Lethbridge industrial park. The City's transportation group has an annual inspection and rail maintenance program to keep the system safe and operational and in accordance with Alberta Transportation regulation RTD- 10. The purpose of this request for proposal was to solicit interested parties to assume the role of Prime Contractor and provide all services necessary to perform the following: Two new concrete panel road/rail crossings Rail right of way clean-up (old ties, rail and rail hardware) Rail tie replacement Track surfacing and adjustment. Rail replacement (new hardware) Miscellaneous work including switch maintenance, ditch grading, bolt replacement, joint bar replacement and welding rail track.
