a) Project Background - The Sheerness Deadfish Water Supply System, which is owned and operated by the Government of Alberta, is necessary to provide irrigation, livestock, and domestic water supply to over 10,000 acres of agricultural land in the Special Areas. The system consists of a pumphouse, two canal conveyance systems, four dams and reservoirs, a pipeline, and various canal structures including numerous private turnouts. General maintenance services are required to ensure the system continues to meet its mandate. b) Project Objectives - A wide variety of services are required to meet critical objectives which are not available through other means. These include earthwork, aggregate supply, concrete supply & forming; fencing & sign installation; electrical and mechanical equipment service & repair; vacuum truck services, welding, painting, yard maintenance, building interior cleaning, and pest control services. c) Project Structure/Business Model - This Contract will be administered by Environment and Parks (AEP), Water Infrastructure Operations (WIO) Team Lead located in Vulcan, Alberta. AEP-WIO Management and technical support services are located in Calgary, AB. d) Key Stakeholders - Key stakeholders of this water infrastructure includes private irrigators, the Special Areas Board (local municipality), and the general public. e) Related Project Documents - Technical drawings of the infrastructure systems will be provided as required, and overview maps and drawings will be provided as part of the RFP package.
