The Town of Nantucket, through its Department of Public Works, is requesting quotes for stump grinding services. The Contractor shall grind stumps to a depth that severs the roots from the bole of the stump or to a minimum depth of twenty-four inches from the finished grade of the stump beyond the basal flare, commonly referred to as the root flare, the purpose of which is to facilitate the proper restoration of the landscape. The DPW will be responsible to replace curbing and pavement/cobbles/bricks removed as part of the Contractor completely removing the stump per the 24" requirement.
