As of February 8, 2024 a design team has not been identified. Beaufort County requests Qualifications from all interested A&E firms, licensed in the State of South Carolina, with demonstrated experience in public waste material handling and recycling facilities. The facility will be approximately 25,000 sf. The selected firm will be responsible for all design work including civil, survey, geotechnical, architectural, mechanical, electrical engineering, and fire and life safety design as well as dust control. The scope includes making recommendations for process flow and recycling equipment and layout. Beaufort County will purchase selected equipment and install under separate contract. The selected A&E firm will be responsible for site permitting, site utilities, and stormwater management system design. The facility will include a truck scale and other appropriate appurtenant facilities.
