Work items include, but are not limited to: 261 CY Excavation, Class 1 (Including Over-excavation) 402 CY Excavation, Class 1B 225 CY Structure Backfill 1,276 TON Subbase (No. 2A) 2,262 TON Superpave Asphalt Materials (Base, Binder & Wearing Courses & Flexible Base) 1,500 LF Guide Rail, Type 31-S 1,740 LF Concrete Barrier, Various Types and Sizes 1,116 LF Concrete Glare Screen, Various Types and Sizes 474 CY Class 3 Excavation 64 CY Class A Cement Concrete 29 CY Class AA Cement Concrete 188 CY Class AAA Cement Concrete (Including Cast In Place and Precast) 111,980 LB Fabricated Structural Steel, Various Grades 41,880 LB Reinforcement Bars, Epoxy Coated 6 LF Drilled Shafts in Rock 125 LF Drilled Shafts in Soil Milepost A-99.01 is located approximately 4.01 miles north of the Pocono Interchange, Exit 95, and Milepost A-121.75 is located approximately 0.25 miles south of the Keyser Avenue Interchange, Exit 122, in Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties, Pennsylvania. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
