Confederation Park is located in the North West quadrant of the City. This park includes facilities to the public that are widely used year round including: tennis courts, bocce ball, lacrosse box, skate park, soccer field, walking track, lawn bowling, spray park, picnic shelters, and two dog parks. The dog park is located on the North East corner of the park at Penzance Drive and Beta Ave, and has an approximate perimeter of 544 m. The off-leash area consists of two separate areas, a small dog area with a perimeter of 135m in length and a large dog area with a perimeter of 409 m in length. Both areas are semi treed and can become saturated. Both off-leash areas are traversed by a legal easement owed by Kinder Morgan harboring a gas line. There is a water fountain in the south end of the large area. Transmission lines are located on the North side of the park area. There are a total of five sally gates found in the parks located in the north and east side of the small dog park and the west, east and south sides of the large dog park. This project will remove and replace all the existing split-rail fences and sally gates in the Confederation Park. Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca.
