MSMD is seeking bids to remove and replace a Pedestrian Bridge located adjacent to 11706 Stuart Mill Rd, Oakton, VA as indicated on design plans. General Work Description 1. Install erosion and sediment controls 2. Construct staging/work area; remove after work is completed and bring to original conditions 3. Install and maintain traffic control including detours 4. Provide work zone safety by installing temporary fencing 5. Remove existing asphalt trail and bollards shown per attached design documents 6. Remove existing split rail fence 7. Remove and dispose existing wooden foot bridge and appurtenant structures 8. Protect existing utilities 9. Provide equipment to unload unassembled bridge off delivery truck 10. Unload unassembled bridge and place in project staging & storage area 11. Provide and install AB Helical Anchors 12. Assemble and install new 30' fiberglass bridge provided by a county selected manufacturer. Assembly and installation will be in accordance with manufacturer's instruction and construction documents 13. Excavate and install concrete per plan - reinforced bridge abutments, footing and walls, 8'wide slab with turndown per attached design documents 14. Provide and install HR-1 Type 2 handrail as per attached design documents and in accordance with VDOT criteria, including grounding system 15. Maintain and provide positive cross grades to ensure proper drainage patterns 16. Stabilize with seed and biodegradable mesh; remove all spoils and debris.
