City of Key Colony Beach will be receiving sealed proposals for the following services: hauling of domestic sludge (biosolids) waste from the City s Wastewater Facility at 600 8th Street, Key Colony Beach, Florida, 33051 to the South Florida District Wastewater Treatment Plant at 8950 SW 232nd Street, Miami, Florida, 33190. The City seeks proposal for hauling of domestic sludge (biosolids) waste of ~ 500,000 gallons per year, approximately 35,000 gallons/month in the off season and 60,000 gallons/month in peak season hauls per month. Hauling will be on an as needed basis. Shipping will be from the City's wastewater plant at 600 8th Street, Key Colony Beach, FL 33051 to the Black Point Facility at South District Wastewater Treatment Plant, 8950 SW 232nd St, Miami, FL 33190. This includes provision for emergency service for a pump truck to pump out the City's lift station(s) should they become non-functional and/or transfer waste from one station to another, a minimum 90-minute response time on emergency service is required. Also included is a request to provide pumping services during the cleaning of the City's fifteen (15) lift stations, typically done twice a year. On site walk down may be required to determine manpower and equipment needs. Transportation: The prospective bidder shall provide the agreement between the hauler and Black Point to accept biosolids. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, in whole or in part, to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bid, and to award this Contract to any party considered to be in the best interest of the City Any questions about this RFP should be directed to Utility Clerk Pat Hyland at utilityclerk@keycolonybeach.net on or before May 10, 2022 at 4:00PM.
