Renovation of a residential development in Rock Island, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.

The City of Rock Island is requesting bids from contractors for a rehabilitation project at a house located at 1713 6th Street. This owner-occupied property will be undergoing rehabilitation using Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds to ameliorate deteriorating and deteriorated conditions. All work shall be subject to HUD 35.930 and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. The bidder shall submit a project plan using the design standards below that is in compliance with all applicable HUD, EPA, and State of Illinois regulations as well as all local building and zoning codes. The plan must include a clear project timeline and budget with line item costs. The contractor shall act as the general contractor for the project using subcontractors as required. Subcontractors that will be required should be clearly identified in the project plan. This Project has recently been cleared of LBP hazards. Windows have been replaced and encapsulated. Soffits and facia are new and shall be left untouched. This second phase of the project will need a side entry door removed and replaced with new pre-hung man door. It will require new deadbolt and lockset keyed alike. Encapsulate the brickmold and exterior jamb with white break metal. Install fan fold and tape seams through out the entire exterior. The existing siding is transite and is in good shape, so contractor will make the determination if the need to remove before installing new siding. If old material needs to be removed this must be broken out in the bid to reflect additional cost up front. New siding specks will be double 4" vinyl siding panels. Homeowner shall select the colors given from contractor's color samples. Providing nothing is a special-order or discontinued colors and manufactured product. This work will need building permit and inspections. The primary contact person for this project is the City's Construction Officer.
