All bids must conform to the requirements presented in the Instructions to Bidders, Attachment A, and the Supplemental Documents of this RFQ. To facilitate evaluation, all bids must be submitted on the form provided in this document as Attachment B. Bids not in conformity may be rejected. The Bradley County Board of Education reserves the right to use judgement factors in determining which proposal shall be in its best interest, and exercise of that judgement shall be binding upon all companies submitting bids. Bradley County Schools will pay for this project in two fiscal years. Approximately 33% of this
project must be completed and billed by Thursday, June 23, 2022. Payment will be issued on or
by Thursday, June 30, 2022. The balance of the project can be progressed billed after July 1,
2022 under regular invoicing and payment procedures The proposal must include the following items of work: Mobilization; Site Demolition; Earthwork;
Storm Drainage Installation; Minor Guardrail Modifications; Minor Fencing Modifications; Base
Stone Placement for Proposed Asphalt Paving; Concrete Flatwork (Extruded Curbing & Concrete
Drainage Flume); Minor Modifications to Existing Playground; and Certain Water and Sewer Utility
Modifications; all in accordance with the scope of work provided. The following are major scope exclusions; they will be provided by Bradley County:
1. Clearing & Grubbing, complete to include stump removal
2. Erosion Controls
a. A portion of the Initial Erosion Control Plan, C-3.0 (supplemental documents), has
been completed to allow the county to clear stumps and protect the drainage ditch.
Any remaining part of the Initial Erosion Control Plan will be completed by the
bidder.
3. Storm Draining Materials including aggregates:
a. 48" HDPE Pipe; Two 48" Pre-Cast Concrete Endwalls; One Pre-Cast Concrete Area
Drain; All required fittings and pipe (including 12"x48" Insert-a-Tee) for connection
of existing 12" cross-drive drainpipe to 48" trunk; All required #57 of similar suitable
stone for bedding/backfill
b. This 48" HDPE Pipe has been purchased and is in storage with the Bradley County
Road Department
4. Base Stone (Limestone Pug) Material for Proposed Asphalt Paving
5. Asphalt Paving & Associated Scopes:
a. Milling; Overlay of existing pavement; new asphalt paving (binder, tack, prime, &
surface) for expanded student pickup lanes and for any necessary
relocation/realignment of existing asphalt walking path adjacent to playground;
striping; signage
