Tillamook County near Tierra Del Mar, Oregon TEP seeks to contract with a consultant for completion of 2D hydrodynamic modeling, in-depth alternatives evaluation, and 30% preliminary design for the Sitka Sedge Tidal Wetland Project. The project will be carried out in partnership with the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. TEP seeks a consultant with extensive experience in coastal wetlands restoration, hydrology, fish and wildlife habitats, and engineering to conduct the modeling, alternatives evaluation, and preliminary design. TEP anticipates this project will achieve the following primary objectives: (1) Maximize estuarine reconnection to tidal influence approximately 83 acres of estuarine habitat; (2) Remove the existing, non-functional tidegate structure; (3) Breach the existing dike to improve tidal connectivity, provide fish passage that meets ODFW guidelines, and improve water quality; (4) Maintain pedestrian, cycling, and equestrian recreational access; and (4) Evaluate storm-water inputs, hydrologic connectivity, and flooding impacts or benefits to neighboring properties and recommend protective measures if necessary.
