Site work for a water / sewer project in Novato, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Project Description: Project work shall include, but is not limited to, the following: Culvert 1, Swale Riser Inlet 1, Swale Riser Inlet 2, and Culvert 2 General: Mobilization and demobilization, construction staking, and temporary facilities and controls, site preparation and demolition, and site restoration and rehabilitation. Culvert 1 Removal and Improvements (Sta 2+00 to Sta 2+25): Removal: Demo/Remove the existing items: culvert inlet structure, 16 LF of 42" RCP culvert, junction box/inlet structure, 14 LF of 36" RCP, and 14 LF of 15" RCP. Improvements: Construct culvert headwall, wingwall, apron. Connect new 4 LF 42" RCP pipe to existing with one (1) cast in place concrete collar. Excavate and backfill around culvert headwall, wingwall, and apron as shown on plans. Connect the following items in newly constructed culvert inlet: 10 LF 36" diameter RCP with two (2) cast in place concrete collars, 6 LF 15" diameter RCP with two (2) cast in place concrete collars. Install galvanized steel bollards on culvert apron. Install galvanized steel debris rack on culvert inlet. Swale Riser Inlet 1 Replacement and Improvements (Sta 3+91.5 to Sta 4+36.25): Removal: Demo/Remove existing steel pyramid riser inlet. Improvements: Install new galvanized steel riser inlet to existing concrete foundation. Construct earthen check dam structure. Construct right bank berm improvements. Swale Riser Inlet 2 Replacement and Improvements (Sta 5+58 to Sta 6+11): Removal: Demo/Remove existing steel pyramid riser inlet. Improvements: Install new galvanized steel riser inlet to existing concrete foundation. Construct right bank berm improvements. Culvert 2 Improvements (Sta 9+03.25 to Sta 9+39.25): Removal: Demo/Remove 4 LF of 42" RCP culvert. Improvements: Construct culvert headwall, wingwall, and apron. Connect new 4 LF 42" RCP pipe to existing with one (1) cast in place concrete collar. Excavate and backfill around culvert headwall, wingwall, and apron as shown on plans. Install galvanized steel safety railing along top of culvert headwall. Questions concerning the Bid should be submitted via Bid Express no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 5 2022. Inquiries or questions based on alleged patent ambiguity of the plans, specifications or estimate must be communicated as a bidder inquiry prior to opening The Engineer's Estimate for this project is $362,100. The work shall be performed in accordance with the official Drawings, Specifications, and other Contract Documents prepared in reference thereto which may be obtained from the County of Marin Bid Express home page at electronically To bid on this project, the Bidder and all subcontractors are required to be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to the Labor Code. The Bidder's registration must remain active throughout the term of the Contract. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class "A" License at time of bid submittal. A Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount payable to Marin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District and shall accompany the Proposal. Award of contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal complies with prescribed requirements, and will be within forty (40) days after receipt of proposals. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Marin reserves the right to reject any or all bids and the right to waive any irregularities. Wage and equipment rental rates as determined by the State of California are listed in the Department of Transportation Publications entitled "General Prevailing Wage Rates," issued monthly, and "Labor Surcharges and Equipment Rental Rates," issued semimonthly. The provisions of California Public Contract Code 22300, regarding substitution of securities for monies withheld to ensure performance shall apply to this contract. This project is to be advertised pursuant to Public Contract Code 22037. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the California Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates for Marin County where the work is to be done have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available at the Department of Public Works. Prevailing Wage rates are also available at the State of California Division of Labor Statistics and Research website:electronically This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and complianceDrequirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990. The Marin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business and woman owned business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or national origin in consideration for an award.
