The Village of Streamwood hereby invites All Trade Bidders to bid for construction and renovation services required for the existing Fire Station #32 and existing Police Station. All prospective trade bidders must be able to demonstrate they have successfully completed government work during the last 5 years in order to bid these two (2) projects. The ability of a Trade Bidder to provide a Bid and Performance and Material Payment Bonds shall not be the sole determination of a Trade Bidder’s qualification to bid. The Illinois Prevailing Wage Act applies to this project. All laborers, workers, and mechanics engaged in the construction and renovation of existing Fire Station #32 and the Police Station shall be paid no less than applicable Prevailing Wage Rates. Bidders shall minimally provide insurance coverage per the Village of Streamwood’s requirements. PREVAILING WAGE RATE A. Prevailing Wage Guidelines: All Trade contracts for work herein are subject to the provisions of the Illinois Department of Labor for the County of Cook. A copy of this ordinance may be obtained from the Village Clerk TRADE BID PROPOSAL FORM Make all Bid Proposals in duplicate on the furnished Trade Bid Proposal Forms. Make Bid Proposals in Lump Sum form and fully fill in all Trade Bid Proposal Form blank spaces. State numbers in both writing and figures. BID BOND AND PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BOND Bid Guarantee Bid Bond equal to ten percent (10%) of the Bid Proposal must be included and shall be in the form of a bid bond, postal money order, certified check, or cashier’s check made payable to The Village of Streamwood. Bid guarantees will be returned (a) to unsuccessful bidders as soon as practicable after the award of job, and (b) to the successful bidder upon execution of such further contractual documents and after providing all insurance requirements & bonds, as may be required by the bid documents, the Village and the Construction Manager. MARK-UP PERMITTED FOR EXTRA & DEDUCTED WORK is 10% The amount of overhead and profit added for Village or Construction Manager requested or approved extra work is limited to a maximum of 10% and shall be used also for materials deducted for credit and/or changes. The Village of Streamwood reserves the right to reject any and all bids, including any alternates considered, to waive any informalities and irregularities in the bidding, and to accept any proposal that the Village Board of Trustees deems most favorable for the best interest of the Village.
