Renovation of an educational facility in Jacksonville, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

UNF is seeking bids from Florida Certified Electrical Contractors to perform multiple data closet emergency power upgrades across UNF campus and residence buildings. Substantial completion shall be achieved within 80 calendar days of the notice to proceed. Final completion shall be achieved within 20 calendar days of substantial completion. The Contractor and the University acknowledge and agree that time is of the essence in the completion of the Work. It is of utmost importance for the Contractor to complete the Work within the time set forth in the Contract. The Contractor understands and agrees that its failure to complete the Work within the required time will significantly impact the University and that the impacts, costs, and other damages resulting from that failure, and as damages arising from such failure cannot be calculated with any degree of certainty if the Work is not substantially completed by the date of Substantial Completion established, or within such further time, if any, as shall be allowed for time extensions in accordance with the provisions of the Contract Documents, the Contractor shall pay to the Owner as liquidated damages for such delay, and not as a penalty, $500.00 for each and every calendar day elapsing between the date fixed for Substantial Completion and the date of Substantial Completion shall have been fully accomplished. The University requires a Builders Risk policy for this project. Additional insurance requirements as provided in the University's Terms and Conditions and resulting contract, if any, will apply. The University requires a certified, cashier's or treasurer's check, bank draft, bank official check or bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount as a condition for participating in this competitive solicitation. Failure to submit the bid bond with your response may be cause for the bid package to be declared non-responsive and disqualified. The successful Vendor shall provide and pay for performance and payment bonds for projects/agreements in excess of $100,000. Such bonds shall cover the full and faithful performance of the agreement and the payment of all obligations whatsoever arising thereunder in such form as required by the University. The successful Vendor shall deliver the required bonds to the University promptly following execution of the Agreement. The Successful Vendor shall require the attorney in fact who executes the required bonds on behalf of the surety to affix thereto a certified and current copy of his power of attorney indicating the monetary limit of such power. Surety shall be a company licensed to do business in the State of Description Florida and shall be acceptable to the University. The bond amount may be increased to include any change order added to the agreement to 100 percent of the total of each change order. Deadline for Questions Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 12:00 PM UNF Bid Portal, Q&A Board Response to Questions Tuesday, May 31, 2022 UNF Bid Portal, Q&A Board Contractor to provide labor and material to connect existing IT Rack Receptacles to nearest 120/208-volt emergency panel, provide red in color outlets and plates to existing and new circuits if not red in color, and provide labeling for each circuit. Provide nameplates on all panels, transfer switches, disconnect switches, and branch breakers in the switchboard; nameplates shall indicate panel designation and type of power. Provide labeling at each existing receptacle within the existing Independent Distribution Frame (IDF) and or Main Distribution Frame (MDF) room to denote circuit number and panel served. The label shall also denote location of panel. Existing emergency systems and panels at the buildings shall be metered for one week to confirm the system can support the new circuits. Provide report to UNF and Engineer for review. See Buyer Attachments for plans and specifications.
