The City of Yellowknife wishes to install a playground for ages 2 -12 in the City of Yellowknife. The playground will be at Magrum Park and will be installed in an area currently used as a playground, attached to the current Accessible Asphalt Pad (there is some flat open space to the rear of the current playground which is also available 5m by 13 m if the footprint was larger). Accessibility is a factor that we are committed to so access from the asphalt to equipment and/or surfacing other than sand be considered. The successful proponent must: 1. Remove the current playground and deliver parts to the City depending on ability to reuse 2. Design, supply and install new playground equipment. 3. Prepare and install the ground cover material, gravel and sand base and curbing for the playground. Alternate proposals for a base will be considered with Accessibility being an important consideration. 4. Provide a Lifetime Warranty on equipment against structural failure due to corrosion or deterioration from exposure to weather caused by defects in materials and workmanship. 5. Provide a 15 years warranty on all components against structural failure caused by defects in materials and workmanship. 6. Provide equipment which meets or exceeds industry and national standards for safety. 7. Supply specification literature and maintenance manual literature with design. 8. Provide an insured qualified playground equipment installer for the project and must provide proof of certification and insurance with RFP submission. 9. The playground should include an Arch swing c/w 2 regular seats and 2 tot swing. Accessible swing could also be one of the swings. 10. Magrum Playground is to be built in an area of approximately 544.20 sq.m (See diagram below) Contractor will be responsible for removing old equipment, creating the playbox and everything inside it. 11. Durability and vandalism resistance is also a key factor so metal slides are preferred. 12.
