Site work and new construction of a civil project in Aklavik, Northwest Territories. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and for the construction of a water / sewer project.
Submarine pipeline replacement of 8.5 kilometers of underwater pipe (through trenchless shoreline crossing/horizontal directional drilling); and upgrades to two pumphouse facilities at either end of the line. High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipes will be utilized. Pumphouse No. 1 upgrades will include: Replacement of the oldest part of structure; Piping; Heat, ventilation, cooling; Generator; New office space on second floor; and Site grading, parking, water/wastewater. Pumphouse No. 2 upgrades will include: Replacement of pumps and piping; New ventilation, cooling; New generator; Air compressor for intake screens; Electrical and heating upgrades; and building and road expansion. TIMELINE: Preliminary engineering design report is complete. Water License amendment engagements are ongoing. Tender and construction timelines are undetermined. Further project details and schedules may be confirmed in late summer, 2026.
