For City Park Bandstand and Bridge Repairs -- The purpose of this project is to improve the historic bridge and bandstand located in the Salisbury City Park in Salisbury, Maryland. Such improvements include paint application, water blasting, and replacing structural components. Pictures containing a sampling of the actual conditions of both the pedestrian bridge and bandstand are attached. The accuracy of measurements must be verified by the contractor. A. Work shall be completed within 150 days of Notice to Proceed. SCOPE OF WORK: A. Pedestrian Bridge: Removal/ Replace 1. Remove and replace two hundred sixty-four (264) feet of the top rail, including angle approaches and 2x4 supports in kind. 2. Remove and replace nine full width 6" x 6" posts, as specified in attachment. 3. Remove and replace all 64 deteriorated wood spaces between the deck and handrail. Toe kick cable may be removed and re-installed for ease. Materials must be in kind with regards to material, size, and shape. 4. Remove and replace all interior picket/cross members. Materials must be in kind with regards to material, size, and shape. 5. Replace or level decking boards, as necessary, to eliminate trip hazards. B. Pedestrian Bridge: Preparation 1. IPE wood decking boards to be power washed. 2. All existing wood and metal that is currently painted white is to be power washed, scraped, sanded, patched and caulked 3. All carvings of initials, etc. are to be filled, sanded, etc. C. Pedestrian Bridge: Painting 1. All paint and surface prep specs should adhere to the attached paint specification sheets. 2. New wood to be primed and painted with two coats of industrial exterior paint to match existing finish. 3. Existing wood and metal to be painting with two coats of industrial exterior paint to match existing finish. D. Pedestrian Bridge: General 1. No potable water is available at the location, therefore, the successful vendor must provide their own source of water via water truck, tanks, etc. for power washing. 2. Paint chips need to be contained and removed to prevent them from falling into the River.
