A firm timeline for construction has not been disclosed. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Rockport boating access site includes a small, protected harbor. The mouth of the harbor consistently shoals-in with rock and sediment due to natural wind and wave action and requires regular dredging. With high water conditions on Lake Huron, the shoaling action is exaggerated, and the harbor mouth can fill in quickly during storms or in high wave events. This condition makes harbor navigation unpredictable, inaccessible, and unsafe. This project effort will include hiring a qualified consultant to perform a Phase 100 analysis to encompass a baseline study of the shoaling conditions, development of options for harbor mouth stabilization treatment, and estimates for construction.
