Renovation of a medical facility in Lexington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
This project is to replace the Deaerator and Condensate Surge Tanks in the Medical Center Heating and Cooling Plant. The existing tanks will be removed, and the new tanks will be installed through the existing exterior wall. The exterior wall panels will need to be removed. The extra steel columns will be added to the existing second floor mezzanine structural steel. The steam, condensate, feedwater piping to and from the tanks will be removed and replaced. New level controls for both tanks will be provided. The Deaerator and Condensate Surge Tanks are owner furnished and contractor installed. Bids, upon their receipt by the University of Kentucky, Construction Procurement Section are stamped showing the hour and date received. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for reception of bids will not be considered provided legal and accepted bids have been received on said referenced Invitation. Bidders utilizing minority, women, veteran, and disabled-owned businesses are requested to identify these contractors and suppliers in the space provided on the Form of Proposal. The successful contractor will be asked to supply associated contract amounts rounded to the nearest $500.00 prior to the signing of a contract. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instruction to Bidders, General Conditions and Special Conditions. The time for substantial completion for all phases shall be one hundred fourteen (114) Calendar Days and Final Completion shall be thirty (30) days thereafter. Substantial Completion will include all site restoration completed, site clean-up and fully functional. The University of Kentucky, Construction Procurement Section, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all formalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the University may be served. Final award of Contract will be made on the basis of the lowest, responsive and responsible bid which offers the best value. 10.9% for minority owned and 6.9% for women
