Lexington Public Library (LPL) is seeking bids from qualified Contractors for a General Construction contract, including demolition, site, grading, landscape, and structural, mechanical, electrical and fire protection work for The New Marksbury Family Branch Library. The proposed work will encompass approximately 30,000 square feet of enclosed area. The purpose of this document is to provide information to submit a bid. Details regarding this topic are found in Contract Award section of this document. Please submit an original and three (3) copies of your bid in a sealed envelope to the contact person shown below no later than the date listed in the RFB Schedule. No oral or electronically transmitted bids will be accepted. Bids not received by the specified time noted will be rejected. Submissions should reflect the bid documents and bidder requirements included herein. Bid security shall be made payable to the owner, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid sum. Security shall be either a certified check or bond issued by surety licensed to conduct business in Kentucky. The successful bidders security will be 824619:2 Page 5 of 6 retained until they have signed the Contract and furnished the required payment and performance bonds. The Owner reserves the right to retain the security of the next two lowest bidders until the lowest bidder enters into contract or until thirty (30) days after the bid opening, whichever is shorter. All other bid security will be returned as soon as practicable. Payment and Performance Bonds Payment and Performance Bonds, in the full amount of the Contract, will also be required.
