A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Borough of Lansdale, negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to ten (10%) of the total bid amount shall be submitted with each Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for Satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond and Labor and MaterialmenaEUR(TM)s Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the awarded contract value. Upon completion of the contract, the Successful Bidder shall provide a 2-year Maintenance Bond in the amount of 100% of the final contract value. This Contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, which provides that training, employment and other economic opportunities generated by HUD assistance or HUD-assisted projects covered by section 3, shall, to the greatest extent feasible, be directed to low- and very low-income persons, particularly persons who are recipients of HUD assistance for housing. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Only the Successful Bidder for a contract will be responsible for payment of a fee to portal and for bearing the cost thereof. The amount of the fee due to portal is either 1/3% (0.0033) of the initial contract award amount for fixed fee contracts or 1/6% (0.00166) of the expected contract value for term contracts and will be invoiced by portal to the successful bidder upon award of a contract by the Local Contracting Unit. The minimum fee is set at $100.00 and the maximum fee is capped at $5,000.00. Project Description A. The Borough of Lansdale is performing roadway and infrastructure improvements to N. Richardson Avenue. In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to: pavement milling and overlay resurfacing with partial depth base repair where needed, sanitary sewer rehabilitation, replacement of storm sewer piping, installation of new storm sewer structures, tree removal, and ADA curb ramp construction.
