New Hanover County Schools (NHCS), located in Wilmington, North Carolina, has received a State Capital and Infrastructure Fund (SCIF) Directed Grant from the State of North Carolina for improvements to the Southeast Area Technical High School (SEA-Tech). NHCS is seeking to collaborate with innovative architectural and engineering firms for design services for interior renovations to SEA-Tech, including expansion of the culinary classroom and a coffee bar; design of a stand-alone pre-engineered shop building for residential and commercial construction; building envelope improvements; and site improvements. Design services will include site studies, program development, cost estimating, scheduling, design, bid and construction administration, as well as comprehensive existing conditions evaluation of the building to be renovated. Renovations and Additions to Southeast Area Technical High School (SEA-Tech), SCIF Grant The site is located in Castle Hayne, North Carolina. Project design will be divided into two phases: Programming Phase and Design Phase. During the Programming Phase, final scope of work will be developed based on design team evaluation of the existing site and building, in conjunction with district established priorities, to create a program conforming to budget parameters. Design Phase will include development of construction documents based on scope established in Programming Phase. Modifications to the campus will include site improvements for storm water management; interior renovations including expansion of existing culinary classroom, a coffee bar, minor renovation of select classrooms; the addition of a stand-alone pre-engineered metal building for residential and commercial construction; and building envelope improvements.
