Milestone Union - Site-building Improvements Location- 1622 Union Ave Bakersfield, CA 93305 This project consists of supplying all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the Site-Building Improvements at the Milestone Union development. The work is primarily in the interior of 79 units. Contractor shall field verify all existing conditions and quantities as necessary to complete the work. Listed below are general items that are included but not limited in the scope of work. Site and Building Items o Mechanical Systems o Electrical Systems o Plumbing Systems o Flooring o Cabinets and Countertop o Drywall o Painting o Rough and Finish Carpentry o Replacement of Window Blinds Completion- (200) consecutive calendar days. Firms interested in bidding this project must submit their Company information in orderto be placed on the plan-holders list. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with provisions of Chapter 9 of Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code. All contractors & subcontractors will be required to obtain the required business license. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who has not registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). No contractor orsubcontractormaywork on a public works project unless registered with DIR. All Contractors/Subcontractors will be responsible for submitting electronic certified payroll reports directly to the Labor Commissioner (Division of Labor Standards Enforcement). Each bid must be accompanied by a certified cashier's check or bidder's bond payable to Housing Authority of the County of Kern for an amount not less than five (5%) of the bid price. The work to be done is being financed by California Department of Housing & Community Development. Work performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 USC 1701u. Section 3 required that to the greatest extent feasible opportunitiesfor training and employment be given lower income residents ofthe project area and contractsfor work in connection with the project be awarded to business concerns, which are located in, or owned in substantial part by persons residing in the area of the project. Regulations for implementing the Section 3 clause are contained in 24 CFR 135, as amended, and as specified in the Bid Documents. The Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities.
